Back in the day, before social media, and before The Beatles had recorded, there were singing idols with dreamy eyes, slicked back hair and sexy pouts, who had teenage girls, chasing them down streets of every city and town in the country and writing love notes in lipstick all over their cars.
Adelaide was one of those cities and Lonnie Lee was one of those idols. Today, many years later, he is considered to be the last man standing from that era of cheeky upbeat melodies and gyrating rhythms.
Over the years he has strutted the stages of Adelaide with, The Everly Bros, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bobby Rydell, Roy Orbison and many other giants of the early Rock'n'Roll era.
In 1978 he brought from Las Vegas, the first Elvis clone in 'Elvis, The Last farewell' and in 2016 had Her Majesty's Theatre pumping with his, 'The Class of 59' show.
Now, just after his 79th birthday, he is back with a more personal show. This time at The Gov at 2:30 on Sunday afternoon November 3rd with his 'Up Close and Personal Songs and Stories Show'.
With his lead guitarist and back tracks from his band The Leemen, he will go through his past gold hits, his just released album and tributes to his friends and peers.
Legendary Adelaide DJ, Jim Slade will also have a Q & A talk with Lonnie after the show.
So, bring your old records and photos for him to sign and reminisce about the good old days when Lonnie Lee won The Golden Microphone as Australia's Most popular Recording Star.

18+ Event, Under 18's admitted with Parent or Legal Guardian.
