Diversity Music Collective is the hottest band you would not want to miss. They play a style of music called African Rhumba, a genre of ballroom music and dance that appeared in the East Coast of the United States during the 1930s. It combined American big band music with Afro-Cuban rhythms, primarily the son cubano, but also conga and rumba. Taking its name from the latter, ballroom rumba differs completely from Cuban rumba both in its music and dance. The Diversity Music African Rhumba band is well-known for its distinct sounds of the Vocals, trumpet, guitar, piano, bass, ngoma, congas, djembe anda ‘kauka’ sound produced by the acoustic drums.

Diversity Music Collective will be playing their debut show at The Gov on Sunday 27 January 2019 in a rare show of amazing singing and dancing skills from Jaison Midzi from Zimbabwe, Carolyn Omenda from Kenya and Iddi Waziri from Tanzania. The three have performed together in many high-profile festivals for over 2 years and they are a marvel to watch. Diversity Music Collective performances leave lasting memories for the fans.

This will be a memorable night of dance that you aught not to miss!

Diversity Music are currently riding high with their latest album WIKENDI BEATS which will be on discounted sale at the concert.

The band will be performing the longest action-packed set ever performed at The Governor Hindmarsh Hotel on Saturday Jan 27, doors opening at 7.30pm. Show starts 8.30pm.
